Purple Rain Singers

Meet the Director

The Cartersville Elementary School Purple Rain Singers

Rain Cloud with music notes in a storm

Under the direction of Mr. LaRue Bowman, The Purple Rain Singers is a choral ensemble made up of Cartersville City's best and brightest 4th and 5th grade singers. For many years, CES has had an afterschool ensemble called the CES Orffestra - comprised of many students who performed on an array of percussion and Orff instruments. Although the name and method of music has changed, the program still encourages students to become the best musicians and citizens that the community has to offer. As all music ensembles do, The Purple Rain Singers work together as a collaborative group to explore, analyze, and perform music from all walks of life (all while having a bit of fun). As the name signifies, the elementary chorus is just the beginning of a long, storm-brewing process that, over time, will eventually turn these young musicians (Purple Rain) into a force to be reckoned with (Purple Hurricane).
